INSTANT TORQUE, UNLIMITED FUN
A NEW WAY TO MOVE
The big secret about Nissan LEAF? 100% torque on tap right off the line. Which means grin-inducing acceleration and a surprise for the guy you left behind at the stoplight. Nissan LEAF is fun in the twisty bits too, with a low centre of gravity that delivers inspired handling. Of course, you can tell your friends it’s all about the zero emissions.
NO PETROL – EVER
Nissan LEAF is 100% electric. Not 50%, or even 99%. That means its motor is powered exclusively by an advanced lithium-ion battery that you can charge at home or on-the-go. Hybrids meanwhile have to carry a heavy petrol engine in addition to their electric drivetrain.
ABSOLUTELY ZERO EMISSIONS
How many emissions do you get in the Nissan LEAF? Zero. As in none. Most cars, even hybrids, release tons of CO2 tailpipe emissions every year. But the Nissan LEAF doesn’t use a single drop of petrol. And no petrol means no tailpipe, no fumes – and absolutely no tailpipe emissions.
CARVES CORNERS AND HUGS CURVES
LOW CENTRE OF GRAVITY
With a battery mounted in the floor, the Nissan LEAF has a low centre of gravity that provides a stable, secure feeling in corners and curves. This configuration offers other benefits too, like added interior roominess and plenty of cargo space.
NEVER BE A DRAG
Nissan LEAF is aerodynamically designed to keep wind resistance down and efficiency up. And with a drag coefficient of just 0.28, that’s something to celebrate. Low-resistance rolling tyres also come standard, which help to reduce the vehicle’s energy output.
GO OVER TO THE BRIGHT SIDE
Available LED low-beam head lights use half as much energy as traditional head lights. They have been aerodynamically designed to maximise efficiency.
The Nissan LEAF’s flat underbody seamlessly meshes with the front spoiler and rear diffuser, so it slips through the air with minimal resistance.
HILL START ASSIST
THERE’S NO GOING BACK
Think about the last time you were stopped on a hill. Did you worry about rolling back into the vehicle behind you when moving your foot from the brake to the accelerator? The Nissan LEAF’s Hill Start Assist system counters that by automatically applying the brakes whenever you come to a complete stop facing uphill. It’s advanced technology that makes every-day driving that much better.
GO ON A POWER TRIP
Nissan LEAF features an advanced 24kWh rechargeable lithium-ion battery that’s designed to provide clean, reliable power.
The 24kWh battery, which is half the weight and twice the power of the nickel-metal hydride batteries used in hybrids, stores its power in 48 lithium-ion battery modules with an advanced design that fits snuggly under the floor boards.
